Aleena Rose
Editor-in-Chief & Founder

Aleena Rose is the author of THEIR BROKEN KNEES, and was born and raised in the heart of New York. She studies history at Columbia University, and is prepared to share obscure historical anecdotes at a moment’s notice. When she isn’t writing, you can find her pacing the sea at midnight. She is the founder and EIC of ECHO Review.

Ashlynn Zhang
Prose Editor

Ashlynn Zhang is a fiction writer, editor, and mentor currently working on her first novel, with dreams of establishing herself and her stories as a published author. Apart from being a writing coach for The Authors of Tomorrow, she is the voice behind her books-and-writing newsletter Ashlynn’s Gone Off Script, and is an editor to Spellbinder Literary Magazine, The Cleverly Creatives, and ECHO Review. When not hunched over a book or typing away, she can be found walking in the outdoors, conversing with fictional characters, and impulsively buying more books and perfumes than necessary.

Anika Neumeyer is a Prose (CNF + Essays) Editor for the magazine. She is a sophomore at the University of Washington in the Honors Program and is currently pursuing an English major. She enjoys reading, writing, crocheting, and can often be found drinking coffee while Little Women plays in the background. She is currently working on the first draft of her novel.

Kathryn H

​Kathryn (she/her) is an avid reader, writer, and art history lover living in the state of Washington. In her free time, she enjoys going to the movies and volunteering at her local parks. She has written poetry recognized through her local library system, and recently attended the Fir Acres Writing Workshop at Lewis & Clark College. Above all, Kathryn is a daydreamer, and you can often find her taking contemplative walks in the rain. Kathryn is excited to be a part of the ECHO Review team, and cannot wait to assist her fellow young writers through this opportunity.

​Helinor Clark is a lifelong reader and aspiring author working on her debut novel and creative nonfiction collection. She placed in the top 5 for Creative Nonfiction in the 2021-2022 Bennington College Young Writers Awards and was a runner-up in the New York Times Tiny Memoir Contest. Helinor is a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in Music and Art History with a minor in Creative Writing and Chinese. When she's not in a practice room or lurking in the stacks, Helinor enjoys watching Love Island and training for her upcoming half-marathon.

​Mitra Katsuyoshi is an artist and designer pursuing a BFA degree in Graphic Design. She enjoys all things literature, mythology, and art, and hopes to work as an artist and designer within the publishing industry, designing book covers and other literature-related content to uplift writers and their stories. When she's not designing, you can find her obsessing over myths and book characters, drawing fan art, and re-underlining every single sentence in East of Eden.

​Katie Hirschboeck is a poet and essayist who enjoys engaging with ancient texts in their original language. Her interests include 19th century American Poetry, Ancient Greek Old Comedy and Classical Reception. She works on a forthcoming collection of poems in the form of a lexicon, inspired by Roland Barthes' A Lover's Discourse.

Caroline Wolff

​Caroline Wolff is a poet, essayist, and novelist from San Antonio, Texas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications and Creative Writing from Trinity University in 2023, and is now pursuing her MFA in Poetry while working in journalism. Her poetry and prose can be found in Fruitslice, Anodyne, SICK, The Trinity Review, Skyline, and elsewhere. In addition to her role at ECHO, Caroline is on the poetry editorial team at West Trade Review. Caroline also enjoys devouring novels of all genres, doing pilates, cuddling with her tuxedo cat, and advocating for disability rights.

​Alejandro Garza-Laínez is the amalgamation of stardust compressed into corporeal form. He is a Third Culture Kid (TCK), influenced by several countries across the world—such as Mexico, El Salvador, the United States, China, Malaysia, Australia, France, and Spain. He is currently studying at the University of North Texas, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics. He is also working on his debut novel and a Spanish-to-English translation of his late grandmother’s poetry.
